Ergonomic Hose Cuff

Ergonomic and lightweight products are vital to ensuring a pleasurable experience for all users.

Background:

AG Industries supplies a variety of products and services to users in the CPAP/Sleep Apnea Market. In response to inquiries and market research, AG Industries saw a need for innovating the design of the hose cuff for CPAP users.

Challenge:

All CPAP users require a hose attachment to carry air from the CPAP unit to their interface. Through research, we found that two large issues for users were the weight of the hose cuff at the interface and the ability of the user to easily detach the hose from the connection port for cleaning without damaging the hose or the port.

Solution:

As a solution to these issues, AG industries developed a lightweight ergonomic cuff. This weight reduction greatly decreased the pull of the cuff at the interface. By reducing this pull the user has a more comfortable feel to the mask and the likelihood of a compromised mask seal is reduced as well.

Results:

With less drag on the mask, the patient will rest easier and increase compliance with their sleep therapy.
